Responsibility
Okopa’s development strategy in Namibia is based on a progressive, responsible and locally integrated approach to mineral development for the benefit of all stakeholders. The strategy is designed to advance exploration and production in stages, ensuring that investment in local communities, employment, skills, suppliers and environmental stewardship grows alongside the scale and profitability of the operation. A central feature of the approach is engagement with its local partners, and Namibian Mining Claim and concession holders, creating opportunities for local participation in early-stage mining while establishing a pathway towards the consolidation of mineral rights and development of a larger-scale mining operation. In this way, Okopa’s CSR commitments develop progressively from practical community engagement during exploration into a structured long-term social investment programme as the project matures.
